Deputy Prime Minister, Mr Heng's Visit to SHARE

Professor Shlomo Sasson (Director of SHARE), SHARE programme researchers from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (HUJ), Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and Singapore University of Technology & Design (SUTD) hosted Deputy Prime Minister, Coordinating Minister for Economic Policies, and Chairman, National Research Foundation, Mr Heng Swee Keat on the 7th of March at the CREATE Tower and SHARE laboratories for a presentation and demonstration.

Professor Sasson introduced DPM to the history and achievements of HUJ and its technology transfer arm Yissum, as well as past, current, and future research programmes by SHARE in collaboration with local universities and researchers.

After which, there was an introduction to Smart Grippers (for Soft Robotics) (SGSR) by Prof Shlomo Magdassi and Prof Lee Pooi See. DPM learnt more about the objectives and progress of the Smart Grippers programme and progressed to the lab tour in the second half of the visit.

DPM observed various smart gripper use cases, including gripping wet lens, assorted food items, and harvesting leafy greens.
