SGSR Researchers win Best Manipulation Award at RoboSoft 2023 Competition!

The RoboSoft 2023 Competition invited teams to test the design and control of their robots in challenging scenarios. The competition showcased novelties of soft robots like resilience, body compliance, delicate contact, and deformability.

The principal aim of the competition is twofold: first, to challenge state-of-the-art soft robots; second, to push the performance of soft robots beyond the state-of-the-art to increase their impact value.

Chidanand Hegde, Jiangtao Su, Joel Tan as part of the SUTD-led team and representing, CREATE-SHARE, Smart Grippers for Soft Robotics won the Best Manipulation Award at the RoboSoft 2023 Competition.

The competition centered around assembling a tray of food, a scenario that is applicable in healthcare, air travel, food & beverage, hospitality, and other service industries.

Robots were tasked to autonomously assemble as many complete food trays as possible within a specified time limit.

Congratulations to the team for this wonderful achievement!
