Dr. Caroline Lei Wee is a Principal Scientist at the Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology, Agency for Science, Technology, and Research (A*STAR), and an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Department of Physiology, School of Medicine, National University of Singapore (NUS). She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences (Neurobiology and Behavior) and Psychology from Cornell University, and her PhD in Neurobiology from Harvard University (2016), specialising in zebrafish behavioural neuroscience.
She was awarded the National Research Foundation (NRF) Fellowship in 2021, where she expanded her research directions to the diet-microbiome-gut-brain axis using both preclinical models and human cohorts. She also conducts applied aquaculture research, focusing on nutrient-microbiome factors promoting stress resilience and immune-metabolic health in farmed species.
